Autumn Mathematics Proficiency Testing
NOTE: You need to have completed the Math placement test or have AP or transfer credit to be qualified for the exam for which you are registering.
a) See link below in l) to register for a proficiency exam at the Testing Center. However, PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BELOW BEFORE ACTUALLY REGISTERING! You need to register before midnight the day before the exam!!!
b) Click on the “Autumn Quarter Proficiency Exams (Math)” link, then read the Testing Center instructions.
c) Click on the "Register online now" link.
d) Click on the "Autumn Quarter Proficiency Exams (Math)" arrow.
e) Scroll down to find the math course you want to test over and check the button next to it. Your choices are :
Math 050 (Placement level T)
Math 075 (Placement level S)
Math 104 (Placement level R)
Math 130 (Placement level N)
Math 131 (Placement level L)
Math 132
Math 148 (Placement level N)
Math 150 (Placement level M)
Math 151.01 (Placement level L)
Math 152.01
Math 153.01
Math 254.01
f) Pick the date and time that you would like to take the test. The Testing Room is limited to 58 seats. Therefore, seats are on a first-come, first-serve basis. When the seats are full, the time will disappear. If you want to take 2 exams, sign up for the first one on Mon. and the second one on Tues. Choices are:
Mon. Sept. 19 @ 12:30 p.m.
Mon. Sept. 19 @ 3:00 p.m.
Tues. Sept. 20 @ 1:30 p.m.
g) Fill in the requested personal information.
h) After your final submission, you will receive a confirmation email stating the location, date and time of your test. This email will be the only reminder of the test, so save the email. Please arrive at the Testing Center 15 minutes before your scheduled exam with pencils, the correct calculator described below and your BuckId.
i) You have only one chance to take this test. If you do not pass, there are no additional chances to advance. Thus, study for the test because those who do not prepare generally give themselves little chance to move ahead. For study materials, go to http://www.math.osu.edu/courses.
j) Only non-graphing calculators are permitted for Math 050, 075 and 104. A graphing calculator without a QWERTY keyboard (e.g. TI-84) is allowed for use on the rest of the math exams, but you must justify all your work to get credit.
k) Results will be available the next day in 250 Math Building from 1 - 3 p.m.
l) Now, go to http://www.registerblast.com/theosu to register.
