Alexander Leibman [0] (PhD, Technion 1995) joins the faculty this Autumn Quarter as an Assistant Professor. Leibman currently works in ergodic theory. He was a postdoc at Stanford in 95-96 and was a Zassenhaus Assistant Professor from 97-99.

Robin Pemantle (PhD, MIT 1988) joins the faculty this Autumn Quarter as a Professor but will be spending the coming academic year at Stanford. Pemantle works in probability theory. Most recently he was a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Markus Rost [0] (PhD, University of Regensburg 1986, Habilitation, University of Regensburg 1995) will join the faculty in Autumn Quarter 2000 as a Professor. Rost currently works in algebra including quadratic forms, Galois cohomology and algebraic K-theory. He will spend the coming year at the Institute for Advanced Study.
