Abstract
A functorial property of Tondeur's index of harmonic foliations
is obtained, and is applied via Hopf ¯bration to show that the
Fubini-Study metric on P^n (n>0) is not bundle-like with respect to any
nontrivial complex foliation, or to any real foliation that is stable.
