Title: Exotic subfactors through classification
Speaker: David Penneys (The Ohio State University)
Abstract: Some of the most interesting and exotic examples of finite index subfactors came from the small index subfactor classification program. I'll give a bit of background on this program, together with the state-of-the-art about what is currently known. I'll then focus on some particular examples which arise in the classification, in particular the (extended) Haagerup subfactors.
