It is with great personal and professional sadness that the Department of Mathematics announces the passing of our dear colleague Steve Rallis. Steve received his BA from Harvard in 1964 and his PhD from MIT in 1968. After a number of postdocs, he came to OSU in 1977. 

Steve's love of, and devotion to, mathematics, number theory, and harmonic analysis is legendary! With his amazing work ethic, and excellent mathematical tastes, he contributed many works that continue to have a profound effect on his subject. He will be sorely missed in our department and in the greater mathematics community.
