Math 254.01: rules on turning in homework
The basic idea is very simple: your homework should be neat,
clean, easy to read, and easy to grade.
Here are the specifics:
- Turn in only the problems you're required to turn in,
written in the correct order.
- Don't cramp stuff together.
(Rule of thumb: ideally half a page per problem;
usually no more than three problems per page;
definitely no more than four problems per page unless they're one-liners.)
- Either write legibly or type up your homework.
Packages like TeX will help
(MacTeX on Macs,
MikTeX on Windows,
and TeX Live
on most Linux/BSD systems).
- Your homework is not the same as your scratch-work.
Please do scratch-work elsewhere.
- If you have multiple pages, please staple them.
If I lose unstapled pages you lose unstapled points!
I will then add insult to injury by laughing at you in
front of the whole class.
There will be a 50% penalty for homework that's unstapled, difficult to read, etc. etc.
