About Me
I am a Doctoral Candidate and Graduate Teaching Associate in the Department of Mathematics at The Ohio State University. Summer 2011 marks the start of the fifth year of my studies here. I received my BS in Mathematical Sciences (Discrete Concentration) from Michigan Technological University in May 2007, and my MS in Mathematics from The Ohio State University in June 2010. I am originally from Bloomington, MN.
Research Interests
My mathematical interests lie in combinatorics and combinatorial probability. I am currently studying a class of models for choosing random mappings; I am also interested in data structures for discrete mathematical objects, and parallel algorithms for discrete problems. I have a hobby-level interest in writing algorithms to solve logic puzzles by logical methods (rather than brute force).
My dissertation advisor is Professor Boris Pittel.
